Wikileaks Seen as “Nothing But a Pawn” After Latest Heist of National Security Data

WASHINGTON, D.C. March 7 (DPI) – For US readers it’s an obvious pattern: Wikileaks can swipe whole terabytes of secret data from US national security agencies, but it can’t seem to hack into the IRS’s servers and share with us Donald Trump’s taxes, much less offer up some compromising data on Russia and China.

For thousands on comment boards today, that’s the conclusion drawn from the latest Wikileaks data dump, this time millions of lines of code of CIA surveillance software. Many readers today are saying Wikileaks is “an instrument of the Kremlin” and “nothing but a pawn” of Vladimir Putin.

Remarkably, this revelation that Wikileaks is stealing more data related to US national security doesn’t seem to be instilling much fear in Americans. In fact, it’s just making them angrier in an already angry era, and they seem to have a clear idea of who is behind it all, and who is abetting it. “We are less safe today thanks to Wikileaks and Assange’s unholy alliance with Putin,” wrote one poster today. Adds another: “Russia and WikiLeaks are trying desperately to prevent exposure of their best asset: Donald Trump.”

The highest recommended posts on NYTimes.com received thousands of likes – an extraordinarily high number for posts produced in only hours. Below the highest recommended:

If anyone still has doubts that Wikileaks and the Russians are working together to undermine and destabilize our government institutions, erode public confidence in our government, and generally wreak havoc in our country, this latest document dump should erase all doubt. We are under attack by an adversarial nation, with a President here at the helm who seems not to take any of this seriously.

Spy agencies spy, this should come as no shock — this is how they infiltrate potential terrorist plots against America and keep us safe. We are less safe today thanks to Wikileaks and Assange’s unholy alliance with Putin..

Until they publish Trump’s tax returns, Wikileaks is just a pawn in someone else’s game.

I found none of these revelations surprising or remarkable. In 2017, you have to assume someone/something is monitoring you. You’re naive if you think otherwise.

Russia and WikiLeaks are trying desperately to prevent exposure of their best asset: Donald Trump.

Wikileaks can find all this information and release it, but they can’t find Trump’s tax return and release it? Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Just another example that Julian Assange is nothing more than willful tool of Putin and the FSB.

And the “Most Liked” on WashingtonPost.com:

Funny how WikiLeaks never posts anything from the Russian or Chinese Intelligence Services on their website.

Hey WikiLeaks where are Donald’s Tax Returns?
