Readers Take Two Views as Hillary Clinton Escapes Indictment in Email Case

WASHINGTON, DC July 6 (DPI) – Hillary Clinton yesterday beat the rap that she mishandled confidential emails, cleared by the FBI of indictment, and thousands of readers took two views: The presumed Democratic Party nominee has been the victim of a politically motivated witch hunt, or she is an entitled and arrogant Washington insider whose actions are above the law.

Much of the media and internet continue to weigh the impact of FBI Director James Comey’s remarks. which outlined that Clinton’s behavior doesn’t rise to criminality. Thus it appears that Clinton has weathered her fiercest political storm to date, and she remains the front-runner heading into the November election, still well ahead of Donald Trump in all polls.

Thousands of readers weighed in on the FBI’s decision yesterday. The two “best liked” comments attached to yesterday’s Washington Post report:

The average voter simply does not and will not care. Hillary loses the Fox crowd — again. Everyone else has the choice between a rational person who did something dumb with her email server, and a nut job.

On a scale of 1/100 with 100 being the most serious, I rate this email so called scandal a 1. Hillary was tired of being hounded by the right wing and tried to protect herself against them. Unfortunately this led to her setting up the email system in her house. Shouldn’t have done it but a major scandal…NOT.

Meanwhile, The New York Times reported at length on the FBI announcement, with nearly 5,000 readers adding their comments. Among the most popular comments on nytimes.com in the last 24 hours:

…and congressional Republicans will start another investigation in three, two, one…

No charges means no charges. I get it that it was careless but can we move on now? Please?!

Let’s finally agree – Hillary Clinton did not break the law with her emails. She just broke the rules in an “extremely careless” manner for her own convenience. The rules that were imposed on her department’s employees simply didn’t apply to her.  For anyone who thinks that this is okay, please announce to your employer that you will handle all future email correspondence on your personal email, since it’s more convenient for you. Assure your employer that it’s okay, since you have everything housed on a private server in a kitchen closet. And if they ever want to see copies of your work emails, you will be sure to review them and tell them which ones they can see. Once again, the Clintons have shown that rules are for the little people.
