Trump Campaign “Taking a Nap”; Not Clear When It’ll Re-awaken

WASHINGTON, D.C. June 23 (DPI) – Donald Trump traveled to Scotland this week to promote a golf course he owns, with no apparent plans to engage in diplomacy or any form of political activity during his trip. It all underscores the odd and unpredictable nature of the Republican Party’s celebrity nominee, who continues to tend to his business interests while firing off one-line insults at Hillary Clinton and his other critics.

One pundit suggested that the Trump campaign, which let go of its controversial campaign manager earlier in the week and has less than $2 million in campaign cash on hand, was “taking a nap” after weeks on a grueling primary campaign trail. More significantly, Trump’s continued focus on his business empire and his refusal to disclose tax returns suggests that the candidate may have deep business problems, and he may never be able to separate his personal business interests from his role as president, were he to somehow be elected.

A DC political analyst told The New York Times that his business travel now sends a bad message to voters: “Everyone knows this is the wrong thing for the nominee to be doing now, and it is amazing this can’t be stopped.”
