“I Hate Hypocrites”: Democratic Strategist Unloads On His Own Party – and GOP

WASHINGTON, D.C. Feb. 17 (DPI) – In a show of almost unheard-of political self-criticism, longtime Democratic strategist Patrick Caddell in an interview last week slammed his party’s left wing, calling them hypocrites who “don’t care about ordinary people” and who “think they should lie around in private planes and the rest of us should have bicycles.”

Caddell, once of the Jimmy Carter administration, has long been dismissed as a political outlier, and his remarks appear directed at Hillary Clinton’s nascent presidential campaign, of which is not associated. Caddell is now contracted to appear on Fox News and other outlets that lean right.

Caddell gave his most recent interview – 27 minutes, link attached – to the conservative Daily Caller, so his remarks are mostly seen by other Democrats as fodder for the opposition and little else.

Still, Caddell, who today lives in Charleston, S.C., in his interview slams the Republican establishment as well. He says the GOP political industry in Washington – lobbyists, consultants and lawyers – is only too happy to “have no message” and lose election after election – just as long as the money keeps flowing.

They are views that the everyday observer of American politics has long suspected; Caddell’s remarks serve as a kind of insider’s confirmation.

“The left of the Democratic Party don’t care about ordinary people,” he told Ginny Harris of The Daily Caller.  “My party is the dictator to the common man.”
