Valerie Jarrett Goes on LinkedIn to Promote Paid Leave; Most Readers Put Off

WASHINGTON, D.C. Jan. 15 (DPI) – Longtime Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett went on LinkedIn – a professional networking site not known for political posts – to promote a White House proposal to mandate paid sick leave. And most readers – all identified by their LinkedIn profiles, unlike anonymous posts on news sites – were only too happy to either reject the proposal or criticize LinkedIn for posting it.

The post, as of this morning, had received views from more than 180,000 LinkedIn members – and just over 1,000 of those clicked “like” either in support of the article or the proposal.

It wasn’t clear if The White House paid LinkedIn to post Jarrett’s op-ed.  LinkedIn didn’t return calls seeking comment

Some readers also saw the post as largely a political maneuver – and not a genuine initiative – to put the Republican-controlled congress on the defensive.
