Obama Regains Some Traction with Americans as He Steers Them Back to War

WASHINGTON, D.C. Sept. 24 (DPI) – Reader comments today suggest the American public is mostly supportive of Barack Obama’s decision to bomb ISIS targets in Syria, perhaps a reflection of a new comity between a beleaguered president and his fickle constituents.

More than 900 reader posts on NYTimes.com today – and those most recommended – showed a firming hawkishness among Americans, at least those who flock to comment boards.  Those views were largely counterbalanced by a wave of comments that the Middle East is a political and military morass not worth fighting for, much less getting involved in.

President Obama has dealt with the ISIL problem with caution but with determination, once the decision is made. He does not want to rush into any “stupid stuff,” or start a ground war. That is a sure sign of a great leader. Hopefully all Americans will give credit to our president, because it is due.

This is exactly what the terrorists have planned all along. Draw Western nations to them, first a few, then more, then all-out war. We will never leave that part of the world, never commit those billions of dollars to our own people, never stop the War On Terrorism–as long as the greedy war/oil complex lives on. A lot of people are getting very rich off this never-ending battle. I fear for my children and future generations.
